Washington insider Terry McAuliffe held a high-dollar fundraiser on Martha’s Vineyard last week as the island was already struggling with a spike in COVID-19 cases, according to a report from the Washington Free Beacon.
Washington Free Beacon: “McAuliffe charged attendees thousands of dollars to attend the Wednesday event, which he held at Sen. Mark Warner’s (D., Va.) $7 million island mansion, according to a copy of the invitation obtained by New York Times reporter Ken Vogel. While donors enjoyed ‘cocktails and conversation in support of’ McAuliffe, however, local medical professionals rushed to deal with a spike in COVID-19 cases nearly two weeks after Obama held his celebrity-filled soirée on the island.”
The spike in coronavirus cases followed former President Barack Obama’s controversial birthday bash where hundreds of guests from across the country were caught dancing the night away maskless.
Washington Free Beacon: “‘We’re bursting at the seams,’ Martha’s Vineyard Hospital president and CEO Denise Schepici told reporters Wednesday. ‘We are pretty jam-packed. … We’re hoping there will be a reprieve in September. But that’s a prayer right now.’”
Breitbart: “On the day of McAuliffe’s event, the Vineyard Gazette indicated cases on the island were continuing to surge, reporting, ‘Martha’s Vineyard Hospital is seeing its largest numbers of Covid and non-Covid related patients since the pandemic began, testing emergency room capacity as cases spike on-Island during the peak of summer.’”
McAuliffe also recently ditched a forum hosted by Virginia’s disability community to attend a fundraiser alongside alleged abuser Steve Sisolak in Las Vegas.
Bottom line: Washington insider Terry McAuliffe is going out of state to rake in campaign cash yet again, and this time he’s putting people’s health at risk. McAuliffe is far more focused on rubbing elbows with his elite liberal friends than presenting new ideas to move Virginia forward.
