Biden’s Virginia Trip Highlights His Attempts to Delay School Reopenings to Appease Teachers Unions

May 3, 2021

President Joe Biden and the First Lady are making appearances in Yorktown and Chesapeake, Virginia today to discuss their tax-and-spend infrastructure packages along with the impact the proposals will have on the education sector.

Biden’s trip comes on the heels of his administration’s efforts to slow-walk reopening schools, ultimately bucking the science in order to appease the radical demands of teachers unions.

Instead of focusing on getting students back in the classroom, Virginia Democrats have been preoccupied with pacifying the radical activists in their party and attacking parents and teachers who oppose their liberal ideology.

One parent was even placed on a “blacklist” after advocating for her daughter’s right to an in-person education.

“President Biden and his Democrat allies have repeatedly left our children behind as schools unnecessarily prolonged their lockdowns and students suffered,” said Virginia Rising Executive Director Tucker Davis. “Virginians shouldn’t trust Democrats with more of their hard-earned taxpayer dollars as they continue to prioritize big unions over students.”
